| Basic Fish Care |
- Frequent, partial water changes will go a long way towards keeping
your aquarium healthy. 20 to 30 percent water changes weekly
for a smaller aquarium(2 to 10 gallons). Less often the larger
the aquarium.
- Small frequent feedings work best. If you see a lot of
food going to the bottom cut back on the amount of food you are
feeding.
- To control algae, control the amount of light the aquarium receives.
Direct and indirect sunlight will promote algae growth.
- Limit the amount of fish in your aquarium. A good rule
of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. To maximize the
space in your aquarium purchase fish from all swimming areas,
some fish like to swim at the top and some like to swim in the
middle and some at the bottom.
